MARBELLA FOOTBALL CENTER ENDS ITS 22-23 WINTER HIGH SEASON WITH GREAT SUCCESS
Marbella Football Center has closed its 2022/23 high season with spectacular figures.
During 6 months, the period between October 2022 and March 2023, the centre has welcomed more than 200 teams and organised more than 200 matches.
The season started with the training camp of the Qatar National Team, host country of the last World Cup, who chose MFC as their preparation centre for such a special event. Afterwards, and throughout the rest of the months, MFC received and organised in its different centres the training camps of the most important teams of the main European leagues: Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven, Olympiakos, Wolverhampton, Southampton, Montpellier, Nice, Real Betis Balompié, Monaco, Olympique Marseille, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Molde or Hammarby were some, among many others, of the most relevant clubs.
This high season also offered the possibility to open up new markets. From the USA and MLS visited the Costa del Sol: Vancouver Whitecaps, Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas. And from South Korea, Jeonbuk Hyundai.
In the course of these months, MFC with the collaboration of the Norwegian Federation, organised 3 events of great repercussion: the Scandinavian Academy Tournament U-19, the International Men’s Tournament U-17 La Nucía, the International Women’s Tournament U-19 La Nucía, the latter two in our centre in that town in Alicante, and the International Men’s Tournament Marbella U-18. More recently, the Young Stars National Teams U-20 and U-21 brought together some of the most powerful and promising teams and players on the international scene.
Elite women’s football, represented by the world’s most prestigious national teams, was also on the calendar of teams working at Marbella Football Center. With the Women’s World Cup to be held this summer, the main candidates for the title Germany, Sweden, China, Switzerland and Ireland trained at our facilities.
It has been months of hard work so we would like to thank and congratulate all the employees and collaborators of MFC for their professionalism and effort during so many days. And to all the clubs and national federations for trusting us. Thank you very much to all of you!
