Liverpool takes back the leadership of the Premier League
With a record of 8 wins, 4 draws and only 1 loss, Liverpool has recovered the lead in the Premier League. Those from Merseyside occupy the first place in a championship of which they are current champions.
Those of us who watched the game were able to enjoy a highly contested duel, with the added curiosity of having Klopp and Mourinho close by. With a goal from Firmino assisted by Robertson in the 90th, the “reds” regained the lead alone, which previously they shared with the “spurs”.
Salah opened the scoreboard with a shot that bounced off the defense and ended up sneaking into Tottenham’s goal. In a few minutes, the Korean Son tied the contest, establishing the 1-1. The scoreboard would not move until the end, when Firmino headed a great Robertson cross from the corner.
With this result, Klopp’s men are 3 points ahead of Mourinho’s and 8 over Guardiola’s “citizens”. Now there are only 3 matchdays left to finish the year, including the “boxing day”, and we trust that our friends will finish 2020 at the top of the ranking.
