Friendly Match Week for women’s senior national teams unveiled
The Friendly Match Week for women’s senior national teams was presented today at Marbella Football Center. The senior women’s national teams of Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Northern Ireland and Faroe Islands will participate in the event organised by MFC.
The representatives of the national teams were present at the presentation ceremony together with Manuel Cardeña, Councillor for Sports of Marbella and Ignacio Ferrer, Head of Communications of Marbella Football Center.
Manuel Cardeña highlighted the positive impact of the arrival of these teams. This sport tourism allows many hotels to remain active during the low season of Sun and Beach.
Ignacio Ferrer added that the growth of women’s football is reflected in the arrival of more and more professional women’s teams and clubs. Marbella will host the world women’s football during the month of February.
The federations will be on the Costa del Sol until the 24th of the same month. An event where the national teams will train and play several matches.
A total of 5 matches will be played, all at Marbella Football Center.

Marbella is once again a reference in international football tournaments and in these same weeks another event is also being organised with seven great women’s U19 teams that will arrive at our destination.
In addition, it should be noted that currently seven other Scandinavian women’s teams are concentrating in the different facilities of MFC. The growth of women’s football can be seen in the arrival of women’s clubs and national teams for first class training camps and pre-seasons. Marbella will host the world women’s football in February.
