Memories: Dynamo Kiev at MFC

Today we remember one of our regular customers, FC Dinamo Kiev, a team that visits us every year for its Winter Break. The team takes refuge from the Ukrainian cold on the Costa del Sol and disputes top-level friendlies organized by Football Impact.

It is one of the most important teams in Europe, with an impressive record. 15 Ukrainian leagues and 11 cups guarantee this soccer giant. The international titles include the European Super Cup of 76.

This is a historic team, which will turn 93 on May 13th. In fact, the Ukrainians starred in an epic story during World War II. A team made up basically of Dinamo players had to face a team of Nazi athletes. They had to be defeated to avoid being killed or sent to concentration camps.

But the pride of the team made them end up imposing themselves on the Nazi military, exciting and motivating the local public. This story would be remembered in the cinema with the movie “Victory”.

In recent decades, the most remembered Dynamo Kiev was led by Andriy Shevchenko in the 1990s. Flanked by Rebrov, Gusin or Golovko, the team achieved great milestones.

In 1997, the team thrashed Rivaldo and Figo’s FC Barcelona 0-4 at Camp Nou, with 3 goals from the great Shevchenko. We leave you a video for you to remember.
